Erika is the Director of Strategy for the James B. McClatchy Foundation where she focuses on the nexus of multilingual education and independent journalism for a multiracial democracy. As the Foundation sunsets, she hones in on maximizing lasting impact and ensuring sustainability. She brings a unique blend of skills from her work as a teacher, a district administrator, a researcher, a non profit administrator, and a consultant. Her expertise includes non-extractive research, grantmaking strategies, and strategic planning for good – and she is particularly passionate about engaging communities in equitable design thinking processes and community-based research to steer initiatives. Erika holds a B.A. in Nutrition and Food Sciences from the University of Vermont and a Master’s of Education Policy, Organization, and Leadership Studies from Stanford University.
